This two-group randomized controlled trial is implementing and disseminating a telephone-based risk communication and behavior change intervention in BRCA1/2 carriers who have not had a prophylactic oophorectomy. Women are randomized to usual care or a theoretically based remote genetic counseling session and referral to a gynecological surgeon. The primary outcome is bilateral prophylactic salpingo-oophorectomy within 12 months of the intervention.
