Cell growth and proliferation are regulated by a network of proteins that act in concert to prevent normal cells of the body from becoming cancerous. When mutations occur within these networks, several cellular signalling pathways that promote cancer development and growth become activated. This research program combines molecular and cell biology, genetics, and novel cutting-edge proteomics technologies to study signalling pathways important for cancer cell growth and proliferation. Importantly, the identification of critical components within these signalling pathways may lead to the development of improved anti-cancer treatment.
