One of our surgeons reached out to this cancer center and asked how we could help. They wanted to learn reconstructive surgery and stat and ICU. Two plastic surgeons, 1 plastic surgery fellow, 2 OR RNs, the medical director of the ICU and self (The ICU CNS) went for 1 week to train staff at B.P. Kiorala Memorial Cancer Center. Two surgeons and 2 RNs are coming to Temple University for a week this year for additional training. The ostomy nurse was connected with our WOCNs for guidance. Supplies have been collected to send to their patients. The ONS chapter sponsored 10 ONS memberships for 10 senior nurses at B.P. Kiorala Memorial Cancer Center in order for their nursing staff to have access to evidence-based practices.
